We asked kids "Hey, what's evolution?"
Here's what they said.
All responses were submitted to Charlie's Playhouse by parents.
Tell us your kid's answer and we'll add it here!
Evolution is something about the Evolutionary War...Wait, that's not it. It's when monkeys turned into apes and apes turned into men.
Candy is evolution.
I dont know! She hasn't taught us that in school yet.
Evolution is accidental copies of DNA in a bad way and that results in changes and sometimes the changes can be helpful or the changes can lead to extinction. I think Charles Darwin can explain it better.
It's like a war.
Umm... that's science.
Something changing, something happening.
Evolution is when stuff extincts and evolves.
Hmm...evolution...I don't know.
You mean like when we were animals and now we're humans?
Evolution? Well, it's when something changes from one thing to totally different. And some people call it EVIL-ution.
Well, one thing's for sure, it's not the cave times when they had to sleep on rocks.
At the beginning there was an empty space. Then, there was a small stone that exploded in many smaller stones. One of them was the Earth, and another planet, Thea, crashed on the Earth and that made the Earth we know today. Than the first living things appeared like jellyfish and the first fish. Also anomalocaris and it evolved. And fish evolved. And the protocrabs and protoscorpions evolved. And fish became something very important: a sleepwalker.
I don't know... I want Skittles.
I think its the building up of something over time.
I don't know.
Evolution to me is a plant or animal adapting moving forward or growing.
It's change from one thing into another.
